Going on an Adventure

Using my $2.50 Pensioners' Excursion Ticket, how far can I travel by bus, train, and ferry?

Today I took the 389 bus to Circular Quay, the 10:30am ferry (Queenscliff) to Manly, and the 135 bus to North Fort Museum out on North Head. My aim was to visit the Quarantine Station #3 Cemetery, established in 1881, which is the eternal resting place for 241 people who succumbed to diseases like small pox, and the plaqueplague.

The day was tipped to have increasing cloud, but to stay fine. Although the temperature reached the forecast 16C, the wind was bitter.

I was thinking that is quite a distance to get on your ticket....
then thought of the distance these poor souls travelled in bitter wind and hot sun.
looking forward to reading more about your group excursion.

Beautiful photos, fascinating clouds.
(I think you meant plague, not plaque, right?)

That is not a bad view.

You are resourceful, and Sydney must have much better public transportation than most cities in the USA.

What a lovely view! It's nice to be able to travel, even if it isn't very far away from home.

That is appreciated, Toemail. However, I will not take the opportunity you offer. As you will see from my blog, I display no adverts nor meme logos. Whilst I do participate in memes, I understand that they are anathema to many bloggers out there.

With sincere appreciation
Julie

One benefit of being a senior, cheap travel. We are way behind the other states. We get it cheaper but still more than elsewhere. A nice little adventure with fabulous views but I would not have enjoyed that weather one bit.

Good to go out on adventure even when the wind is bitter. You never know what you might stumble upon. Good on you Julie.

Excellent value with your $2.50 seniors ticket Julie, maybe when I come over I can join you and use mine and we can go on a 'jaunt' together. Brilliant view, can't believe that chap took his laptop on a picnic haha!

Those $2.50 fares are a wonderful thing. I wonder how long they will last.
