We have that a lot here in Birmingham. My daughter trained jasmine on hers. In the summer it was a full time job training it and clipping the strays. Beautiful wall you captured. V
Oh, so pretty, Julie. We saw a great many espaliered trees in Europe last year. I had to look up Chinese Star Jasmine, and see it is a shrub that can be trained like a vine. Oops, the thought of gardening reminds me, I have to run outside to move the sprinkler on the back lawn. Luv, K
I love this plant - have it growing up one side of my house and overhanging one of the terraces - trachlospermum jasminoides. Not sure I like it so rigidly trained as in your second photo tho. Prefer a more natural look but perhaps they'll allow it to take over as it grows. The jasmine in the foreground looks like what we call here, Jasmin de Grasse. Don't know it's other name - common jasmine I suppose. Flowers here in March.
Yes, it is common Jasmine here too, Jilly out with avengance right now, I am not sure I woud go for an espaliered CSJ, but adore it tumbling over a trellis. Hopefully, if we can find a house before Christmas, I will have a large garden to gambol in again.

The espaliered effect is pretty awesome but given how vigorous jasmine is I wonder how hard it is to maintain.
This is something I've always wanted to try..and funnily enough I've just bought a star jasmine to plant!
