Skewed

I was attracted by the decoration under the eaves of this late 19th century terrace on the corner of Albion & Selwyn in Paddington. Once I stood on the diagonal, however, the lines of the house, and the lines of the utility poles seemed to have a 'star-wars' effect on my brain.

The portal for the City Daily Photo community has returned. Add it to your side-bar and make a habit of a daily visit.

Great shot Julie. Such good news about the portal, well done with all your hard work over the months and helping us to keep in contact.
How do I get the picture for my sidebar?

This is excellent, Julie. I rarely try to take wires out of scenes. They are a central part of urban living. In this shot, your careful camera angle made the wires a fine part of the design.

I just learned that the CDP portal is alive again through your leadership and persistence. Congratulations. And, thank you.

Julie, I am so glad that you stood there at that particular point because the photo that you got is great. I think the impact of the lines and the angle and the perspective is better in the black and white one, but I do love the sky in the color version. Thanks!

Mark, I think Eric is going to make one available both on the portal and on FB, when he wakes up. Peter is off with his grandkids for a couple of days.

Jack, thank you for your appreciation. We work as a fine team of three.

lyn: Where does the Olga come into things? I posted both images for that very reason. I like the B&W because it emphasises the tension between the elements, but the sky and clouds in the colour one is just wonderful.

Thank you all for your ocmments.

I prefer the sky in the b&w. Removing the colour also emphasis the strength of the lines more.

You have made a virtual of the ugly wires that so often mar city (and even country) photos. Nice one.

A very fun angle! The color image is more striking.
