Scarpering is no longer an arrow in my quiver

Gingerly, I descended from The Bulwalk down to The Scarp, which reminded me of lanes around Saint Andre-de-Roquepertuis, just north of Avignon. By now, I had walked for 90 minutes [but in reality not very far], and was looking for a walkway on my right to take me back up to Edinburgh Road. I found it, and turned to snap The Scarp, looking west, which is the second shot. A Scarp, by the way, is the inner wall of a moat. The outer wall of a moat, is the counterscarp.

Love your title. You have a fun way with words. I'm not sure where you are scarpering is it North Head or somewhere else?

Diane - all my posts and images at the moment are in and around the lower north shore suburb of Castlecrag which is a peninsula on Middle Harbour, where I now live with my daughter and her family.

Thank you, Karen. I do try, but it always gets out of hand.

Well I've gotta say you are making suburbia pretty interesting.

*grin* ... it is not your standard suburb of the quarter-acre block with a single brick cottage with terracotta tiles, Joan. Neither is it like up your way with the Edwardian and Federation cottages. I suspect this suburb is fairly unique to Australia.
