| The Archibald Fountain completed in March 1932, was a gift to the people of Sydney by the founder and publisher of "The Bulletin", Jules Francois Archibald. It commemorates the friendship between Australia and France. The sculptor was Francois Sicard. When the wind picks up, nothing is unblessed. |

I'm sure it's no accident that the water 'dresses' the statue in what looks like a Moulin Rouge dancer outfit!! Happy New Year!!
The little town I grew up in was built largely from bricks made from a local clay pit.
Bill, Sydney from the air shows that the inner-city areas were built from bricks locally sourced.
