Growing into age

from The Lake Isle of Innisfree

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
There midnight's all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet's wings.

W. B. Yeats

Sure looks like a peaceful place, one of my unattainable dreams has always been a private island.

I wouldn't mind growing old in a place like that. Lovely.

Oh that would be a nice place to be today.

The older I get the more I appreciate old ... in photographs, in people's faces, in my own life. I am finding the peace comes dropping slow.

Peaceful and rustic. Looks like it belongs in the bush, not the city.

I'm curious. Is this on Sydney Harbour?

Yes, on Sydney Harbour. Immediately to the right of the little covered shed which is the Thames St ferry wharf in Balmain. Shall post another image in the next few days that is a long shot of this boat-shed plus the wharf plus the rise up to Darling St Balmain behind them all.

Our neighbors house at Lake Arrowhead is named after Yeats' poem. Beautiful shot.

How idyllic is this. And that gorgeous poem to go with it too. A beautiful photograph, Julie.

Thanks so much for your concerns over my tiredness. Very kind of you. And yesterday I was REALLY tired after the vet's visit and then two baths each but today, I'm back to being 21 again. As if...! Truly, I'm OK and thank you so much.

Splendid! I can hear the water lapping too! Such a rustic setting for being in the city.
