Theme Day - A thousand miles from care

Rather than a photographer, I am someone who takes photographs to tell a story. To me, this image encapsulates the yearning in many of us for a simpler life connected to nature. It was originally posted as a Skywatch entry last July in the first incarnation of "Sydney Eye".

Loved this shot last time and still do. Strangely, I'm planning to go down to Buindeena tomorrow if the weather is okay. I need to get out into the green and blue for a few hours. Happy New Year.

I think the weather tomorrow will be cooler and fresher than this overwhelming humidity and closeness that we are enduring today.

Take yer camera, lassie ...

Your photos do tell stories. I loved the way your second shot yesterday showed the guys going off into the distance, following on from the close up picture of them.

May your New Year be full of good stories.

A beautiful choice, Julie. I agree with your about photographs telling a story. I'm inclined to do it via people but goodness, with a scene like this, I could sit and dream and write all day.

Thank you so much for your kind comments and wishing yo a very Happy New Year.
