I once had a mother-in-law with a similar finger. She lost it working in a meat plant in Kansas City, Kansas, grinding hamburger if I remember correctly.
My brother lost the top of his middle finger like that in a bobcat accident in the 80s. Awesome shot. Funnily enough my mum has the stockiest workman's hands and yet she paints the most delicate, emotive landscapes. I love the stories our hands do and don't tell.

Well spotted as usual. Took me a while to see what the butcher thing was about.
Or a farmer. That's a pretty dangerous occupation too.
Ah!!! Now I've seen it! Fantastic shot, Julie!
The current US chief of staff, Rahm Emmanuel, is also missing part of a finger as a result of a job as a teenager in a fast-food restaurant.
My goodness! I would love to know the story behind that.

All this talk of missing fingers and meat is making me consider being a vegetarian! HA Great shot Julie.

I have relatively stocky fingers. Comes from working with the soil, I think. I dont have long delicate fingers like my daughter.
I really like hands. They tell the story of our life.
