In front: sun setting behind the Harbour Bridge [F5.6, 1/1250, ISO400, 208mm] |
Rows and flows of angel hair And ice-cream castles in the air And feather canyons ev'rywhere I've looked at clouds that way. But now they only block the sun They rain and snow on ev'ryone So many things I would have done But clouds got in my way. I've looked at clouds from both sides now From up and down, and still somehow It's clouds illusions I recall I really don't know clouds at all. ... Lyrics by Joni Mitchell ... |
Behind: sunset echoes over Fort Denison, the harbour and the ridge down to South Head [F5.6, 1/160, ISO400, 220mm] |

Very nice, Julie.

Wonderful post. Happy skywatching.
Lovely poem! The orange-red of the burning sky is awesome.
Such great colours. Beautiful.

Very nice compositon of words and colour. Isn't it fascinating what combinations create.
Wow! that orange is phenomenal!
Outstanding picture combo.
Just delicious...and I remember singing that Joni Mitchell song so often years ago! Perfection, Julie!
Awesome sky!
Like that portion where orange and black "collides."
Your photography, Joni Mitchell lyrics. This set certainly worked. Think you could do more?
Both sides of your sunset are beautiful.
I really like the first shot — the silhouettes on the deep orange background.
Love the use of the bridge structure as a silhouette in the sunset in the first photo and the second photo is quite magical!
Love both orange colour on the 1st shot and golden reflections on the 2nd. Amazing shots for the skywatch theme!
Beautiful pictures and the lyrics to one of my favorite songs! Thanks Julie!
both photos are wonderful and I so enjoy Joni Mitchell.
That lovely single wispy cloud in the first photo...
Btw Julie, Julie, re your question on my blog, it's a Philip Pullman book I think, but not sure which one. It has since gone back to the library and Yasmin isn't sure of the title. She read 3 or 4 of his books that week.
Wonderful photos... especially liked the contrast in the first. Nice dog photos.
Great shots, I love that song too and still have not found out their secret.
I love that song.
Specially the Paul Young cover.
