These are great Julie. Reminds me of the Spanish Steps in Rome with people just chillin all day watching the world go by. The same sort of thing happens in Melbourne on the steps of the library.
Good stairs shots. I seem to have developed a bit of an obsession for them.
Had to do some serious research on this one - ie find someone who could remember the name of the foodhall across the road from the building that we used to work in (the one with the clock tower). The foodhall is called Wintergarden which may or may not be the name of the building. The building is on Bridge Street, possibly on the corner of O'Connell. The building with the clock tower is the old Department of Lands building, sadly no longer occupied by us but by Planning. One of the most fascinating buildings I've ever worked in, the dome was built as an observatory, there are conference rooms in the square bits on roof and the building is built around a central courtyard. Its well worth a look and is usually open for Sydney Open.
A nice selection of random Sydneyites at leisure. And an indication of how temperate your climate is. Stair sitting is an exlusively summer time activity over here.

Nice candid photo's.
I've just discovered the fun of playing candid camera. :-)
I love the lines in these Julie.
Perfect framing. Very interesting shots.
Each shot is just great, but the idea of posting them together as if it was a collage is brilliant, Julie!
Are these the Opera House steps Julie?
Sydney - City and Suburbs
Yes, they are, Jim. Taken from part-way up the steps to the Tarpeian Way.
Thanks Julie. I've never heard of the Tarpeian Way before. Must google that.
Reminds me of the ripples shots I posted earlier this week. I guess it's an urban form of the same.

I've always liked to climb steps to the top and then sit and watch the world go by or just relax and meditate...
Excellent photos. Is this a stadium or the a government building in town?
These are the steps of the Sydney Opera House, Jacob.
Excellent post, Julie. The cumulative effect of the step shots yields a single image with so much visual play. And exercise.

Oh wow, I love this set of photos. The stairs do provide some dramatic photography opportunities.
Where in Sydney is this taken? It looked almost like the Spanish Steps in Rome.
I think this set is brilliant.
Very nice pictures Julie! I didn't realize they were the Opera House steps until I read the comments.
Wonderful! I have always liked your stair step pictures.
Nice eye! I like the dark horizontal lines in your shots. Gosh, 20C in winter is quite hot compared to Argentina.
Fab lines - like little wee people caught in venecian blinds.
