Aha - more hands and a well-worn pair too. Always the best type. Do you know any of these people or do you shoot candids of strangers (hate that word - what's strange about them?)...

It is a mixture, Eamon.I have shown my daughter, my son and my father. One of my brother's ... some friends.

Mostly, they are people, just being themselves. I am an avid people watcher. I am also very fond of their foibles and their fractures. Somehow, I can sense the damaged people amongst us and I endeavour to show my love and regard via my Sunday posts of hands.

This gentleman leant over the bow of the ferry the entire trip, alone and quiet. His hands look as though they might be wrung in quiet desperation, but upon reflection, I felt that it was just a mannerism that he had developed through the years of keeping himself to himself. I was intruiged that the finger nails were cut as they appear: quite rounded and feminine rather than blunt and cracked and masculine. An indoor worker, I posit. The afternoon light fell nicely over his left shoulder.

Sometimes you have to get a grip - on yourself!

At first look , I thought it was two people clasping hands. Now I see. This is so beautifully touching Julie, it brings tears to my eyes. Exceptional my friend.

On Sydney real estate: I guess by world standards we're a very low density city - it's very very unusual to find such a huge block of land within 10 kms of the city centre in most cities. And so the demand vs scarcity drives up prices, eh.

I have to hand it to you Julie, they look like they're clasped in Prayer.

You keep surprising me with your hand shots, Julie! Just beautiful and I love the blurred background.

As always, superb and thanks for the explanation ... it adds to comprehension I think.

This post reminded me of the thoughts I was having the other day. I just turned 57, and my skin is starting to wrinkle here and there. For a number of years I have looked younger than I am, and I still feel young inside, but told myself a few days ago, that I am going to need to accept that I am starting to look older. It's kind of an odd feeling, but I am not going to try to use chemicals or whatever to fight the process.

Great photo!

(I see you are following my "Branches" blog. Thanks!)
