A breath of fresh air

Early morning, Burton Street, Darlinghurst

The Burton Street frontage of what is now the National Art School, but which began life in 1822 as the Darlinghurst Gaol. Being slightly flummoxed by the purpose of these vents, my over-active mind guesses the airing of the bodies of the 70 plus persons hung over the years. It could, of course, be an artistic assessment of the artworks produced by the students in the recent past. Surely, it is not something as prosaic as fumes from paints and thinners!

Glad to have you back. My BB reckons they are toilet exhausts.Next time you are wandering around Taylors Square maybe you could take a picture of what used to be the mental hospital there. It was called Reception House. My mum worked there in the 50's and 60's.
I don't normally read crappy magazines but when our daughter and partner featured in one we had to buy it. See here:

So good to see you pop up again. I don't really care what the purpose of these vents might be, I just love all that golden honey light.
