| The Reflecting Pool, State Parliament House, Macquarie Street |
There is not much reflecting occurring in this Parliament House at the moment. Within 24 hours of my tour, they had tossed out the State Premier and installed another. Thank God there is only 15 months until another election. Although the leader of the other party in contention comes across as a whinger and naesayer, I did meet the Shadow Minister for Transport who was quite impressive - and will need to be.

This very striking but I am not quite sure what I am looking at. Is this a sculpture of thin metal rods hanging over the water with some water dribbling down from them? I can't tell if this is a sculpture or a fountain or both.
Bill: it is all those things you surmise. It is quite striking and I took photos from every-which angle, chosing the one with the least intrusive background. It is a fountain with sculpted hollow rods of varying lengths dribbling back into the pool. The lights reflect back into the mass of rods and hence back down again into the water. I will try to go in again at night.

Is it a fountain or sculpture or both? Lovely shot. So you have 2 women running the state now. I wonder if they can do better!
Not just two women, meaning the Premier and the Deputy Premier, but also the Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore and the Governor of NSW, Marie Bashir.
Will they do better? Nope, because the blokes have just gone underground and continue to pull the strings. It is a mess. It is a bloody awful mess. They are not in it for the power and the glory but for the power and the money.
Am I annoyed? You betcha. And guess what? I vote.
