It was 23C at Clandulla on Saturday. We settled under a shady tree and read the newspapers. I always find it amusing the way people sit in the sun in Europe.
That's because we don't see nearly as much of it in Europe:-) It's that time of year when the temperatures in Europe are starting to get the better of those in Melbourne. How depressing..
I agree it is just so different from the way we regard the sun in Australia. However, I am already able to understand that the people of the northern hemisphere have a fuller appreciation of the four seasons than I might have. TThere is really only one season in Australia - the sunny season. Over here they have it just as hot, but way colder as well.
I like the way they use there public greenspace. As I wandered home one evening there were bodies all over the greensward stretching from Des Invalides all the way down to Pont Alexander III. People gobbling up all available sunshine.
Today I am off to Parc Monceau (yes, I sometimes go North!) so will see lots more of this phenomenon, I suspect.
It was sunny in Amsterdam yesterday too, not the temperatures you had in Paris, but 17C is nice. Spend time on a terrace on Noordermarkt in the centre of town, having coffee with strangers who turn out te be from the same part of town I hail from. People on the terrace turned with the sun to soak up as much rays as possible.
Hope all of you "Down Under", or anywhere else, have a great weekend.
Thanks for these lovely pics Julie. You sound as if you are really enjoying yourself.Now..how about some pics of your apartment and some people kissing...you might have to go scarpering up some laneways but one must sacrifice for one's art:) Looking forward to the next lot...lucky bugger! Rall

Lovely relaxed feel.
Spring in Europe is beautiful. I remember the people sunbaking in Hyde Park in London while I was still wearing jeans and a jumper.
I had the same experience where everyone in London was complaining about a heatwave when it was only 27C. :)

their ... their public greenspace ... oh gawd!

Love the first shot, so relaxed in the sun, blissful.
A Dutch friend once took me for a beer in Amsterdam when it was 12C. You can imagine my thoughts on the matter!
However, it was delightful ... and warm ... 12C and even I took my coat off ...
It was a beautiful day here in 28*C with a blue sky and NO rain. Europeans remind me of rabbits, they all come out of their holes in Spring.
It looks like the whole of Europe is having a fine weekend! I wonder if Paris is installing its beach on the Seine again this summer?
Thanks for these lovely pics Julie.

another great shot
Fabulous, mon amie!! I cannot wait to be there and will see you on Thursday à Paris!
Hang on that sunshine for me!
Bises,
Genie
Rall: I did have two kissing shots ... but decided on something more general. Kissing shots are not hard to come by in this city.
Genie: I think Tuesday (when you arrive) is not going to be nice ... 14C max ...
I read about that Paris beach last summer. Silly idea. I will check it out for this year.
Oh I love how the Parisians relish the sunny days in the parks and along the Seine. Wonderful photos Julie. Have fun at Parc Monceau!
