Paris Eye 13/30 - The Sunday promenade

Along the Seine, thousands of Parisians were pounding the pavement in the annual marathon. Not these Parisians though. They were lazily kicking back as the weekend drew to a close, with the temperature a most balmy 25C.

Swapping from Parc Monceau to Jardins des Plantes in an attempt to identify the trees of Paris, I failed abysmally. I need to find either a book or a website, to enable me to compare images that I collect during my sojourn in this most marvellous of cities.

Being sans hat, I did enjoy the meander down the avenues of Plane trees - one down either side of the central plantings of shrubs and flowers. And, yes, I did stumble upon the carousel.

I did enjoy the green-overalled beefy chap who let rip with a blast from a shrill whistle if one rode a bicycle rather than pushed it. Or if one stepped onto a piece of lawn more sacred than another piece. He got my attention each and every time.

These are great photos. Are you coming to London too?

You should know that 25C is not an usual temperature at this time of the year and even later in Paris! :-) But 25C is a "must reason" for Parisians to get out.

Your Paris series has been wonderful.

If you have not been there already, we recommend the Jacquemart-Andre Museum. It is our favorite Paris museum, as the mansion on Boulevard Houseman and the art collected by one family are equally interesting.

Great candid shots of the Parisians soaking up the sun on what I would call a cool day. I love the Avenue of trees too. It looks like the trees have been painted into the picture.

Alannah received her postcard and would like to know when she should have her bags pack to come sail boats with you in the Tuileries. Love the avenue shot.

Buttes-Chaumont is on my list Margaret. It is over in 19eme but no more of a hike than Pere LaChaise which is also on my list. Thanks for the heads-up. I think I already have enough photos to keep memories of Paris going for the next twelve months.
