What is it that gives a place an edge? That one aspect, replicated throughout a city, in nooks and crannies, that makes a place memorable? That 'sine qua non'? In my home city of Sydney I posit it to be the beauty of the natural setting.
Here in Paris? I am on a month-long idyll to sus them out. How about window-treatments for starters ... ? Any idea where these little beauties are?

There are so many government departments scattered throughout this area. And smartly dressed government workers. Handsome young men abound ...

WOW! How fantastically unique! I love it. Also, I'm glad to see someone other than myself explore other areas outside of their hometown in their city daily photo blog. I did this when I visited my sister in Poland last May, and it was a lot of fun. I look forward to seeing more of your perspective on France.

What astounding windows. I like your discussion. The setting of Sydney is mind-blowing. In fact I think of all Australia as being a culture based on the land. Paris something else as you are so beautifully showing us.
It's great you are bringing Paris to us through your viewfinder. I think these windows would deter any Romeos from clambering up the balcony to serenade their Juliet.

They are on a very big building, but yes, huge would cover it. The are on th Invalides. Show you in the next post.
