Wrinkled between earth and sky

Depositing a brother at Mass, I meander over to the lookout for a chat with a local. Invariably about whales. And the pros and cons of country vs city living. The bush vs the big smoke. Only dog-walkers are out this early on a Sunday.

Staggering onto the dry sand, I bee-line for the hard-compact, sudsy surface, and ease northerly. On my right, the Pacific Ocean. Where there be whales. Breeching, and frollicking. Heading south. On my left, a gnawed coastline. Crumbling. Succumbing to the ravishes of time.

I make for the entrance to Cathie Creek. Dim in the distance. I drift, trapped by dangerous beauty.

I can hear that you have been consumed by the beauty and serenity around you. Nature's Mass.

The lines, the light - I love them all but that first image is stunning.

If this had been one of mine the bottom shot would have been a 'sea lines' post for sure.

Yes the choices we make, the peace quiet and beauty of the countryside but it is sometimes boring, narrow minded and has limited opportunities or the excitement, culture and sense of being at the centre of of a great city but also the many inconveniences, unfriendliness and hassles.
There is no 'perfect' place to live, we have to make the most of wherever you are.
Good post Julie!

Julie I've been busy with work at late and have forgotten to visit your blog. How absolutely sorry I am. Catching up with your latest photos has been a joy. Your beach shots speak to me but not only - your beautiful details of the QVB and your Spring racing carnival hats are pure delights.

And then the 'seven little postmen' - how fun is that!

Your gorgeous images and soothing feelings of the beach transport me to a much happier place. :)
