Great composition for a B&W shot, Julie. I might have been tempted to crop out the blatant liquor sign, risking losing the perspective you achieved here. K
I like this perspective and I think the liquor sign contributes to the 'old time' feeling along with the painted bricks and the angled rook. Lots of interesting elements make a great shot.
It involves looking with a different head, Rae. I take all my images in colour and then choose which to convert. For a landscape, I am looking for line and shape, and also perspective. I am also looking for a range of shades.

Great photo in B&W, Julie!
It looks a good street. Loads of lines of all kinds, softened by the trees. Attractive.
Love this one. Perfect composition of the street and it's surroundings.

The liquor sign was my starting point, then the kink. By then the woman walking down the centre had gone off to the right. Darn her!
Terrific street scene!
It is so city. So ordinary. And yet somehow delightful. You can see the different ages of architecture, building materials etc. Yep I like it.
It looks like parts of London, perhaps one of the nicer roads north of the other Oxford Street.
Nice street photo.
Regards and best wishes
Beautiful street picture..great composition: well done ;-D
that looks so good in black and white too Julie; I keep forgetting to do that
Very neat and uncluttered street. Have a great weekend!
love everything about this image, julie.

This does well in B& W..like the post above too..the comparison
All is quiet in the big city...
Nice composition.
great shot. All lines are vertical. You stood on a good place I think. :)
Love the atmosphere of the empty street, I guess and early morning shot!
Lovely shot...;-D
Beautiful composition Julie. You are making me think I need to get out and focus on B&W at least once a week.
