Hope the guys with the tail caught up with the rest of the dragon! They must have been so hot inside those costumes...UGH!

You had a good view, where were you? I was outside Woolies just before they turned onto George St. Had a great view but only the 50mm lens so I could hand hold in low light. Frustrating because I couldn't zoom in or out. Will put mine up next week.

I like Chinese New Year. It is always celebrated with such vigour and colour. Not sure what animal applies to me. Hope it is the Dragon or the Tiger.

Ann: I was in front of the Star Hotel, cnr Goulbourne and Sussex. May not bother again next year. It is a long wait for dark to descend! But I did get some good shots. Just not sure what to do with them! Cannot imagine how they might translate into B&W ...

Don't get much of CNY up here but when we lived in Haymarket and Crows Nest there was plenty. They also have celebrations at work but it was one of my work from home days this year, The dragons at the bottom look very personable.

The Chinese New Year celebrations are always so vibrant and energetic, you've caught that all perfectly Julie.. So what Chinese sign are you, apparently I'm a Tiger (wasn't there a song with that title waaaaay back then!!)

This looks much more fun, really, than our new year symbols of fireworks and champagne flutes!

Marvellous shots. I saw some of the animal and dragon floats driving down Southern Cross Drive on their way to the city that afternoon.
