Gallivanting - Freeman's Waterhole # 2

I watched in mid-2011 as Peter and his tractor fashioned this 'pond', in the bottom paddock furthest from the homestead. The attached blade helped him to carve the gully, to shape the banks, and to contour the feeder paddocks. Together they engaged in their individual ploy of 'carbon sequestration' as the trees were rationalised, felled, burned, then returned to the field as ash. Today, the reed beds bend and sway, the wild ducks honk and migrate, and this pond looks similar to another one further up the landform which has been there for donkey's years. What a pleasure it is to visit.

It is nice to see things "settle in".
