Neither urban nor suburban, but more natural reserve

Sign-a-holic perhaps, but my local council is at least keen on hawking the benefits of my new area. Both these signs are within 250m of my new abode. Long-necked turtles, goannas, sugar-gliders, buff-banded rails, swamp wallabies, and eastern spinebills. I won't hold my breath though.

I admire the work of the bush regeneration groups ... especially now I know how much hard work it is just trying to regenerate my acre at Whistlers Rest.

I do, too, Joan. But I fear that the 'escaped' garden climbers will never be tamed ...

They love spruiking their efforts these days.

A bit like governments and road and school improvements, Jim. ALthough, in the case of bush regeneration it it to recruit new members, rather than voters.

Dad used to volunteer with the bush regeneration group on the range escarpment in Toowoomba. It was a humungous and thankless task - their evil plant was lantana - it was a never-ending battle. Then he got too old and rickety (or so he thinks!) to continue - I just think he felt it was all a bit pointless.
