Autumn in ... anywhere

This is me for the rest of the day!

My first raking this season was February 21, making this the 9th weekend of raking. I usually count on 13 weeks. I am now into two sessions a week. There is a forecast downpour this arvo, so want this all squared away before that!

Next season, I want to have me a small mulcher in place, to make use of all this beauty. Also need to spread my current bin of compost, and load up another. I'm late, I'm late, for a most important date. Ciao my lovelies!

Spring has sprung here up in the north of Europe.
I love this time of year.
Gardening is a perfect activity.
I am not an expert, but I love it anyway.

I have really enjoyed your summer images.
It has been medicine for cold and rainy days.

Some of that happens here in spring, but we mostly have to worry about that in our autumn.

I haven't got leaves just a carpet of pink camellia petals that go brown and squishy and get walked all through the house on the carpet!

I'm not sweeping a thing until the end of May when they have all dropped. I am happy to put up with a leaf carpet and doing the job only once.

Noticed Letty's comment ... the neighbour has a camelia carpet, we don't because our's produce hardly any flowers.

The pine trees are dropping little pine cones by the zillion though and the rain is washing away the yellow pollen they drop with them. Another thing to sweep up eventually.

I like to sweep often (like is going too far) because I do not want the leaves to cover the garden beds where they are so difficult to dislodge. Yes, they could be a mulch, but I would much prefer to cover my gardens with a well constructed compost.
