The Ties that Bind

My oldest grand-daughter is four and a half. She goes to Pre-school three days a week, spends one day with Grandad, and the fifth day with Ma - me!

Our day together is Friday, and we do all sorts of things: drawing, craft construction, lego, gardening. reading, and now beading. Actually, the beading is a precursor to "introductory sewing". Last Friday we had 5 or so (clean) yoghurt tubs, and in each was a graded example of items to string, some big with big holes, and others more fiddley. The strings varied from shoe-laces, through plastic, to wool, and embroidery thread. We were at it for just over 90 minutes. Not bad concentration for someone < 5 years of age.

A very colorful post, Julie. Love that you have so much time with your granddaughter. It does help solidify the relationship, and she is so lucky to have you! Love her fingernails and toe nails. What little girl doesn't love nail polish?! PS. Notice your new profile photo. . .nice!

Beautiful post. Yes, very colorful. I played so much Lego when I was little.

What fun! And how fortunate you are to be able to spend consistent time with your grand daughter. My almost 3-year-old grandson lives in Spokane, 180 miles to the north, so I make a point of visiting for 2-3 days every six weeks. P.S. I love her rainbow toenails.

She does, too. She came home today asking for it.
