Drifting down the river on a lazy afternoon

This retirement caper is a bit of a lark. A bit of oright ...

Here I was at the pointy end of one of the little red ferries that ply our harbour, the sky was blue, the breeze was there, but less than fresh, the temperature hovered in the mid-20s. A nice lad brought me sandwiches and a cuppa.

Simply messing about on the harbour.

From the National Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour, we crossed the main channel then nipped up the Lane Cove River. There was little in the way of autumn colours, so we drooled over the waterfront houses of the first half of the 20th century.

Beautiful! I would love to be sitting on the porch of any of those houses. They are magnificent!

You have infected me with a burning desire to visit Sydney. Alas, it is a long way from Tulsa. It is on my bucket list.

That is a wonderful way to spend time on a sunny day. The map is great, it looks as though the river wanders through a lot of territory.

There's not much to beat drifting along studying the beautiful houses along the banks. What a lovely day you had.

Oh yes, part of my old stomping ground, the Lane Cove River. Have you been up to Bobbin Head recently?

These not-so-humble abodes are indeed something to drool over.

A ferry ride is always a time to drool at the wonderful homes some people have. I love looking at them.

What a beautiful area for living. I was in Sydney in 2003, we've stayed in Darlinghurst. My wife was ill and I had to stay a little bit longer. It was at least a good time, I've met many kind persons. I hope you'll post more shots of Darlinghurst, it was an interesting quarter. Greetings from Stuttgart.

We almost did a tour of the harbour today when we got on the Neutral Bay Ferry instead of the Watson's Bay Ferry.
