Theme Day - Where do you Belong?

Where do I belong? Right here, in Sydney Cove, the birthplace of my country as a member of the international community of nations.

Though there had been indigenous peoples here for millenia, working the land, living, sharing, restoring the land; that was truly THEIR land. Their land is different from my land, although both lands are identical. A conundrum we need to work harder to explain to each other.

This central part of my city, nestled around this cove, gives me peace, and immense solitude, even amongst all the hustle and bustle. It is where I feel at home.

Today is Theme Day for the City Daily Photo group of bloggers. See where other photo-bloggers feel at home.

Wonderfully different and intimate view of the world landmark such as a local would know!

Julie, you opened my eyes, thank you! I never quite understood why I feel so at home when I visit my kids in your city, Sydney. Usually I am alone there in the city, but no worries. It must be that I am appreciating that peace and good solitude that you speak of here. Thanks for articulating that for me.

I like the combination of past and present history you provide.

I like the concept of solitude amongst the hustle and bustle Julie. A juxtaposition that is often comforting.

I forgot about theme day ... like you not been blogging much. I am finding that I like the city less and less ... though I will never fall out of love with the harbour. Sydney just a place a visit when I need to (which is most weeks) but it doesn't grab my heart or even my interest. I have looked at your photos above. That is the part of the city I almost always haunt when I am down there and I barely see a photograph.

Isn't it lovely that all people are not the same.
