My grand-daughter, Alannah, turned 5 last week. She flew solo (sans training wheels) on Mothers' Day, which in Australia is the second Sunday in May. My father, Laurie (1921-2011) was 18 in 1939, when this shot was taken the morning after the awards night of the Hornsby & District Amateur Cycling Club. |

Quite a different pair of bikes, but good choices as a prelude to what's to come.
I've got mine, though I might add one more. My city has a whole lot of bike paths, which is another angle on the theme.
So nice to see a link between the generations Julie.
She is doing very well solo already. Love the shadow. A great old photo of your cyclist dad.
Your granddaughter looks very cute in those striped leggings!
Lovely, the generations.
And I love the way Australians count using "sleeps." :)
